Did you know that each day 43 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer?
That is only one of the many sobering statistics surrounding childhood cancers. While there have been many strides made in the fight against childhood cancers over the years, there is still so much more to be done. With only 4% of the government's cancer research spending going toward childhood cancer research, affected children depend on private fundraising to further advance important research.
This September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Tommy Strong Foundation is launching a "Virtual 43" fundraising campaign.
Team Tommy Strong will be working together this month to raise money to help fund research for a cure for pediatric cancers and for much needed new treatments. We hope that one day we can wipe out childhood cancers so that no child has to worry about anything other than being a kid.
